Weekend trip to NYC

We went to see grandma Kathleen and uncle Chris on October 13-15.
On Saturday we got out of the house and checked out the small zoo in Central Park. Other than that we hung out at mom's apartment and danced ballet, did art project and ate lots of yummy food.

Fall is here!

Steve and the girls did some yard work (mostly raking leaves) yesterday...

Bye Deborah...

Deborah has had a back problem for a while (pre-existing condition) and she finally saw a physical therapist who recommended her to not work for 6 weeks. So Deborah was able to convince her insurance company to send her back to France for treatments (and she is not coming back). We got 24 hr notice before she was on a plane back to France, and now we have no nanny :((

Stress stress stress!!!! ...and sad of course... I took a day off work, and brought the baby with me the next day while Anika was in school. Steve is taking next week off work while we look for a new aupair and find a temp nanny until an aupair becomes available.

Fortunately Anika has taken it relatively well, she accepts our explanation of Deborah went on an airplane back to France - she has not asked when she is coming back.

I've been looking for a hat for Anika for a while, and I found this green cap for sale for $2 that fit perfectly. However, Steve think it is very ugly and is embarassed that she wants to wear it. ESPECIALLY with her hair and the french fries she ate the other day... Therefore i will post all pics i took of her with the hat here ;)

Big Apple Circus!

While pappa was on an all-day biking trip, mamma & Freya & Anika went to the Big Apple Circus for an early afternoon show. Freya slept most of the time, but Anika had a blast. She was very fascinated by the music, performing artists, clowns playing with water, and the animals (horses, dogs).

Freya is growing

She is now 2 months... 13lb 1oz (6.2 kg) and 25.5 inches.
Sleeps through the night, usually 10pm-6am every night.
Very happy and content girl, 'talks' all the time, smiles a lot, eats a lot!
